Tracking a driver's daily revenue
The day's revenue is the first figure in managing a vehicle. Recorded every day, it tells you whether the vehicle is working well; recorded from memory at the end of the week, it no longer tells you anything.
Why every day
A forgotten revenue entry cannot be recovered. Recording every day lets you compare one day with the next, see a drop straight away, and pay the driver on figures you both share.
What to record
- The amount of the revenue, on the day's date;
- the kilometres driven: they are used to track maintenance, and to understand a weak revenue;
- a note when the day is out of the ordinary: long trip, breakdown, road closed.
In the MOUTOUKA driver space, that is the "Record my revenue" button: an amount, the kilometres, an optional note. On vehicles with a controller, the revenue can also be recorded in two parts, one for the driver and one for the controller.
Who records it
The most reliable way is for the driver to record their own day, from their phone, as they finish it. In MOUTOUKA, their entry works even without network and is sent as soon as the connection returns. They only see their own vehicle, and they cannot delete a revenue entry: only the administrator can.
Spotting discrepancies
- compare the day's revenue with the usual revenue of the same vehicle, not with another one's;
- many kilometres for little revenue deserves a question;
- a run of days with no revenue signals a vehicle off the road, or a revenue not recorded;
- check the month before closing it: in MOUTOUKA, a locked month can no longer be changed.
Advances
If you advance money to the driver, record it when you hand it over, not at the end of the month. In MOUTOUKA, advances are withheld from their pay: the driver's "My pay" screen shows gross, advances and net, each advance with its date.
What MOUTOUKA does with these entries
With each revenue entry, the driver's pay is calculated according to the vehicle's mode and frozen; the kilometres feed the odometer that triggers maintenance alerts; the month's balance works itself out. The guide Paying your driver details the pay modes.
